Figment Of An Imaginative Embrace
By Zainab Naeem
Passing across the building where you slammed the door on my face;
Slammed it like the smacking of an iron lip.
My mind recollected the moment of the day;
When you claimed to stare and hear me.
Tears kissed my cheeks and embraced my face just like the day;
When I felt the warmth, and solace of your embrace.
The sun smiled down wrapping us in her warm embrace
You interlocking my petal soft fingers in yours;
While assuring me you don’t want me to leave.
A bunch of clouds suddenly appeared on the sky
And embraced the thirsty ground, with its cry.
The first tear of cloud washed my cheek
And aroused me from my, world of fantasy.
Then I came to know that the warmth which I was feeling
Was just an illusion of the last night’s dream
Which I saw while reading the quote of Austen:
‘’You must allow me to tell you; how ardently
I admire you and love you. My feelings will not be repressed.’’
But now standing here, I know very well
That I can never feel, the interlocking of our fingers.
Because you have turned deaf to my scream silence
And have turned blind to my crumbling soul
Turning me into a Sapien who is just;
Beautiful and Doomed! Beautiful and Doomed! Beautiful and Doomed!
